Good to know
How do I change the brightness?
On iPhone, slide up to brighten the screen or down to dim it. The app starts at a low light level by design. On Apple Watch, turn the Digital Crown to adjust the light’s intensity.
How do I play or change a sound?
Tap the circular sound button below the moon to start playback. The first play uses Surf. In the expanded row, choose Hush, Rain, Surf, or Crickets. Tap the currently playing sound again to stop it.
How does the sound timer work?
While a sound is playing, tap the countdown above the sound button. Choose hours and minutes, then Start, or select continuous playback. The default is 15 minutes. Your sound and duration choices are remembered. When the timer ends, the sound stops and the iPhone light stays on.
Why does sound stop when I lock my phone or switch apps?
Sound is foreground-only, including continuous playback. Locking the screen or switching to another app stops playback. When you return to WarmLight, tap the sound button to start again.
What should I check if I can’t hear anything?
Keep WarmLight open and start a sound, then check your device’s media volume and audio output. Sound may be routed to Bluetooth headphones or another device. If you still hear nothing, close and reopen WarmLight.
Why does my screen stay on?
WarmLight keeps the iPhone screen awake while the app is active so it can serve as a night light. When you leave the app, normal brightness control and auto-lock return. Leave the app or lock your phone to finish using the light.
How do I add a Control Center or Lock Screen shortcut?
On iOS 18 or later, open Control Center, tap the plus button, choose Add a Control, and search for WarmLight. Add a Lock Screen control through wallpaper customization. On compatible iPhones, you can also choose the WarmLight control in the Action button settings.
Why does the Apple Watch light dim or turn off?
The watch app has an auto-off timer, and watchOS can also limit display or runtime duration. Reopen WarmLight to use it again and turn the Digital Crown to adjust the light. Display behavior depends on the watch model and system settings.
Which devices are supported? Do I need internet?
The iPhone app requires iOS 17 or later. The Apple Watch companion requires watchOS 10 or later. The current app needs no account, and its light and sound features work offline.
How do I remove saved preferences?
Delete the app from your iPhone to remove that device’s local app data. Apple Watch preferences are stored separately, so delete the watch app there too. Offloading an app can keep its data. Manage device backups separately through Apple’s backup settings.
